Dr. Waldemar Marz


Waldemar Marz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Energy, Climate and Resources at the ifo Institute and junior faculty at the LMU Munich Department of Economics. He studied Economics at LMU Munich and Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich and received his PhD from the LMU. Waldemar’s research interests lie at the interface of environmental and political economics. In one strand of research, he investigates effective and efficient pathways for the energy transition in the mobility sector, its distributional effects and implications for land use. In another line of research, he examines the political factors and mechanisms in party competition and lobbying that shape climate policies on the national and international levels. Waldemar has also been teaching classes and seminars on Climate, Resource and Energy Economics for several years.
